Register your residence in Portugal: EU certificate and AIMA procedures
If you want to live in Portugal for more than three months, your residence needs to be formally registered or regularised. For EU citizens, European Economic Area citizens and Swiss nationals, this usually means registration with the Câmara Municipal. For third-country nationals, other procedures through AIMA, a consulate, a visa process or a lawyer may apply.
We help you identify the right office, the required documents and the practical sequence of steps.
For EU citizens, European Economic Area citizens and Swiss nationals: registration with the Câmara Municipal
EU citizens, European Economic Area citizens and Swiss nationals may need to provide different evidence depending on the case. Typical requirements include identity document, Portuguese address and a declaration or proof of the reason for residence. We prepare the appointment and accompany you so the process does not fail because of language or missing documents.
For third-country nationals: AIMA and prior procedures
For third-country nationals, visa type, purpose of residence, appointment availability and legal requirements can be more complex. We do not provide legal advice and we do not act as legal representatives. We can, however, prepare documents linguistically and organisationally, accompany appointments and refer you to suitable professionals where needed.
